Artist Biography:

In my artistic practice as a painter and printmaker, I reference floral imagery in both figurative and abstract work. In my figurative paintings, I use flowers as a replacement for the head on nude female bodies. The narratives in these compositions are ambiguous, leaving room for interpretation, yet they follow themes of objectification and women’s work. My abstract work explores the essence of naturalistic forms by stripping away the literal depiction or rendering by using simplified marks to represent them. The use of drip marks alludes to the fluidity of water and gravity, further exploring the idea of the natural world.
